Pottery Show Returns Saturday!
The Annual Potters on Gaffney’s Old Field returns on Saturday, May 17 from 10:00AM to 4:00PM at the Cherokee County History & Arts Museum, 301 College Drive-Gaffney. Potters and artisans will be on hand to show and sell their works.
Event organizer Jane Waters says, “We have twenty-one potters and nine exhibitors this year, including, local Cynthia Link with her famous cats; Marjorie Hawthorne with traditional utilitarian bowls, cups, and platters; Diane Barnhill with decorative gourds; Geraldine Smith with her original Black Folk Art, Michael Ballenger glass blowing (with demonstrations); Keaton Clary with turned wooden bowls, original cutting boards, trivets from wine corks, writing pens, and weed pots. Also, there will be Native American art, handmade baskets, beautiful woven items, and jewelry.
Your Best Body and White Plains Baptist Church Men’s Group will have food and refreshments available. The annual pottery show auction will be held at noon and features donations from each of the potters and artists. Admission to the Pottery Show is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12 and includes the Museum galleries.
